About Me

  Hi There,  My name is Rejhaun (rhymes with parmesan), but most people call me Ray. Chances are if you are visiting this blog you might be interested in K-8 tutoring sessions. I am a homeschooling mama of two boys. My oldest is thirteen and my youngest is nine. Our homeschooling journey started five years ago and is one of the best decisions we have ever made for our family.  On Sundays you can find me teaching in our church's kids ministry. During the school year I teach various classes through our homeschool co-op. I am also a substitute teacher in Dallas County. I feel like I am teaching ALL. THE. TIME. Since I am constantly teaching I am also always learning. Reading and learning new things is, and has always been something I am passionate about. My Why

  Any time we make big life decisions it's good to reflect and understand the "why" behind what we are doing. This is especially true when these decisions have lasting impacts, have the potential to be difficult, and require discipline and perseverance!  When I began my homeschooling journey I was TERRIFIED.  There were a hundred different reasons why I was scared, but at the core I was simply afraid that I wouldn't be enough. I wasn't smart enough, I wasn't educated enough, I wasn't disciplined enough, I definitely wasn't patient enough... the list went on and on.  In life, sometimes we have to do "it", whatever that is; scared. So, believing it was best for my child; who at the time was finishing third grade in the public school system, I just did it.
