About Me

Hi There,

My name is Rejhaun (rhymes with parmesan), but most people call me Ray.

Chances are if you are visiting this blog you might be interested in K-8 tutoring sessions. I am a homeschooling mama of two boys. My oldest is thirteen and my youngest is nine. Our homeschooling journey started five years ago and is one of the best decisions we have ever made for our family.

On Sundays you can find me teaching in our church's kids ministry. During the school year I teach various classes through our homeschool co-op. I am also a substitute teacher in Dallas County. I feel like I am teaching ALL. THE. TIME. Since I am constantly teaching I am also always learning. Reading and learning new things is, and has always been something I am passionate about. Over the years I have found that teaching not only serves the kids I interact with, but blesses me in countless ways I never imagined!

As a tutor it is my desire to meet your child where they are at. Together we will identify barriers, set goals, and come up with the individual strategies necessary to achieve those goals. On the way to better time management skills, organization, developing effective study habits, understanding/subject mastery, improved grades, etc I hope to help foster a love for learning and pursuing knowledge.

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."

I wasn't smart enough, I wasn't educated enough, I wasn't disciplined enough, I definitely wasn't patient enough... the list went on and on.  In life, sometimes we have to do "it", whatever that is; scared. So, believing it was best for my child; who at the time was finishing third grade in the public school system, I just did it. I submitted all the paperwork to the state of Delaware and "The Poole's Too Cool for School School" was born. Yes, I actually submitted that as my official homeschool name. All o...
